Psychotherapy
Are you feeling overwhelmed with anxiety, sadness, stress or low esteem? Has an unexpected life event left you feeling unsafe and scared? Is there a recurring conflict in your relationship with others that stops you from forming meaningful connections? Or perhaps you are experiencing a niggling feeling that something just isn't quite right without a clear understanding of what it might be? The reasons for seeking out therapy are varied. Whatever it is that has brought you here today, you have taken the first step in getting the support you need.
I am a UKCP registered psychotherapy trainee in private practice with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a Master of Studies from the University of Oxford. I am in my third year of an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy at Metanoia Institute in London.
I am a counsellor with registered charity Bereft Bereavement Support and have experience working with people who have suffered a bereavement or living loss.
I am currently accepting individuals and couples for face-to-face sessions in Porto, Portugal as well as remotely. I provide counselling and psychotherapy in both English and German.
Individual therapy provides a confidential setting where you can explore personal difficulties, feelings, and self limiting beliefs. The reasons for seeking out therapy are varied. Some of the issues my clients bring are related to anxiety and depression, trauma and bereavement or difficult life transitions. I also offer therapy for abuse, addiction, chronic illness, divorce, family issues, infertility, infidelity, parenting, pregnancy, self-worth, self harm and stress.
Couples counselling provides a supportive space for you and your partner to explore communication patterns, resolve conflicts, and strengthen your relationship in a supportive and impartial setting.
Transactional Analysis follows a humanistic approach to psychotherapy. It is based on the idea that the coping strategies we develop in our early childhood can lead to recurring behavioural and communication patterns that may no longer serve us as adults and therefore have a negative impact on our lives and relationships. In my work with clients, I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space that facilitates an exploration of these self-limiting beliefs. I aim to enhance clients' self-awareness by helping them identify their emotions and triggers, and by building a strong therapeutic alliance. I support my clients in recognizing their strengths, building resilience, and cultivating both self-compassion and autonomy.
